The Women’s World Cup T20 is just 44 days away and the preparation for the same is going on full-fledged. The hosts Australia will be confident of winning yet another World Cup, thanks to their latest run.
However, Australia will be hugely tested by second-ranked India and fourth-ranked New Zealand.
Reflecting on the same, in-form Alyssa Healy said that there will be no excuses for the hosts.
“We’ve definitely got the harder pool, I’ll say it here first,” Healy said on Wednesday during the launch of the Trophy Tour.
“But I think that’s fantastic, it’s going to be really good for the sides in our pool to test ourselves early in the tournament.
“We’re going to have our work cut out for us, we’re going to have to play some really good and consistent T20 cricket, which is difficult to do, to get through pool stages.
“But we’ll take a bit of confidence from how we’ve played over the last 18 months and hopefully we can take it into the tournament.”
Undoubtedly, Australia are the favourites to win the tournament. It will be interesting to see who stops them.
