Amla set to sign 2-year Kolpak deal with Surrey

Hasim Amla who retired from international cricket in August is all set to play for Surrey on a Kolpak deal, according to ESPN Cricinfo.

Middlesex and Hampshire were also in the queue to sign the batter.

Since Surrey has players like Rory Burns, Ollie Pope and Sam Curran who will be absent due to their international assignments, Amla’s presence will boost Surrey’s confidence for sure.

Amla played 181 ODIs for South Africa, scoring 8,113 runs at a strike rate of 88.39. He also played 124 Test matches, aggregating 9,282 runs at a fantastic average of 46.64.
