England goes 1-0 up in the T20I series as the rain played spoilsport during the second innings of the game on Friday.
Harmanpreet Kaur called it right at the toss and opted to bowl first. England openers, despite struggling a bit during the early session, added an excellent partnership that provided the platform for Nat Sciver to play her natural game.
On the other hand, India did well when it comes to fielding as they not only save a plenty runs but also converted half chances.
Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol made heads turn with their brilliant catches, Deepti Sharma did well to stop the ball, get it back to Ghosh, to get rid of Heather Knight.
However, Amy Jones and Nat Sciver took England to 177 in their 20 overs, probably, 20 to 30 runs more than what India would’ve expected.
Sciver, on the course, scored the joint-fastest T20I fifty for England.
In return, Brunt won the battle against Verma early this time as the latter got out for a duck. Mandhana had a good cameo but it wasn’t enough as India soon found themselves at 54 for 3 when the rain took over.
The couple of quick wickets did push India back as the D/L method went England’s way. The hosts closed the game with a 18 runs victory over India.
