World Number One Novak Djokovic has defeated the defending champion Rafa Nadal in four sets in the semi-final of the French Open 2021.
Nadal began the match by winning five straight games and took the first set 6-3.
Djokovic, as expected, bounced back in the second set which witnessed Djokovic changing his game tactics a bit. The world number one advanced to the net more and it turned fruitful. After an insane long rally, Djokovic won the set 6-3.
By that time, both players had pulled up their socks and the third set went for more than 90 minutes. A proper roller coaster set saw Djokovic taking winning the 3rd set in a tie-breaker.
Nadal began the fourth set by breaking Djokovic but the world number one was too good as he broke back and won a few insane points. In the end, it was just too easy for him as he took the set 6-2.
Djokovic will meet Tsitsipas in the final. The latter had defeated Zverev in the first semi-final in a yet another roller coaster game that went down the wire.
Tsitsipas won the first two sets but Zverev bounced back to win the next two to take it to the fifth set. In the end, Tsitsipas broke at the right time to take the set 6-3.
