Recently, George Floyd, a black man, was killed by a racist white officer Derek Chauvin after the latter kneeled on his neck.
The office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison plans to charge Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng on Wednesday according to Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
The attorney has already arrested Chauvin and now is planning to announce that it would be upgrading the third-degree murder charge to second-degree murder.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) tapped Ellison, a former progressive congressman and civil rights attorney, on Sunday to take over the case from Hennepin County prosecutor Mike Freeman.
The decision to put Ellison incharge happened after consulting Floyd’s family, said Walz.
Floyd was killed a few days ago and since then the protest against white officer’s violence took place and is strengthening day by day.
