In the pre-match press conference ahead of the T20I series against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli said that he is not a fan of four-day Test matches and it shouldn’t be altered.
When asked about ICC’s plans to introduce four-day Test matches, Kohli said that he is not a fan of introduce a new format. “I was not in favour of THE HUNDRED format. I am not going to try myself out in another kind of format as there are already too many formats,” said Virat Kohli.

He said that if four-day doesn’t get the intended results, the talk could be about three-day Test matches. “Where do you end? You will speak of Test Cricket disappearing. I don’t endorse that at all.”
Kohli said that it is not fair to the purest form of the game. “How it all started and the five-day Test is the highest of Test you can have at the international level. I don’t think it should be altered.”
“When you are purely talking about the numbers and entertainment, I think the intent will not be right,” said Virat Kohli. He also added that Day-night test format should the most changed thing in Test Cricket. “D/N Test is another step towards commercialising Test cricket to create excitement around it. But it can’ t be tinkered too much.”
