Chennai Super Kings came back in style to win their first game in four matches against Kings XI Punjab.
The team did everything right today. Though they couldn’t pick up the wicket of KL Rahul, who went on to score yet another fifty, they made sure to steal dot balls as much as possible and restricted Punjab to 178 in their 20 overs.
In return, Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson went out for it, reached out every single delivery instead of waiting for the right ball. Watson who played many dot balls in the previous games, made sure to convert them to singles at least. As the game progressed, the players got back their touch and continued to play straight, kept things simple.
Their risk-free approach helped to add more pressure on Punjab bowling attack that failed miserably today. In the end, Watson and Du Plessis managed to pull off one of the highest chases without losing a wicket.
