In what you call an absolute carnage, Kolkata Knight Riders destroyed Mumbai Indians to take their second massive win in a row.
A couple of nights after they ran through the batting order of RCB, KKR chased down 156 with ease to pick their second win in the second leg of IPL 2021.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians had Rohit Sharma coming into the side. The skipper added 33 from 30 deliveries and went past 1000 runs against KKR.
On the other hand, Quinton de Kock played well for his 55. The openers added 78 runs together. After their dismissal, the run rate went the other way and the team began to lose wickets. As a result, they had managed only 155 from their 20 overs.
In return, Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer got to a flying start. They added 40 runs from just 18 deliveries before Bumrah dismissed Gill. However, Venkatesh Iyer didn’t stop there. He smashed 53 from just 30 deliveries.
On the other hand, Rahul Tripathi gave an excellent hand to Iyer as he went on smash yet another fifty. He had 74* from 42. In the end, the team got their in the 16th over.
With this win, the team moves to the 4th spot in the points table with Mumbai Indians going down to the 6th spot. Still, the table is wide open.
