IPL Final: Chennai Super Kings take on Mumbai Indians once again!

The IPL has gone to the wire, and it’s the final match of the ongoing season. As expected, this IPL had it all, and almost all the teams did well, even RCB, the team that finished last bounced back in the latter season to bag a few wins. Now, everything has been narrowed down to two of the best teams in this IPL and they will lock horns in the final.

CSK’s record against MI will be forgotten for a night, and the teams will start fresh for the day.

We can go on and on about how Chennai Super Kings underperformed in this season and but when it was needed, CSK found someone helping the team out from the defeat, and the team has found a way to march on to the final and with kind of experience out there, CSK will be the most relaxed team in terms of pressure. That’s how it has always been.

For Mumbai Indians, as Rohit Sharma said in the press conference, they cannot go in with the previous records in mind because it’s a 20-over game and a hit or a misfield here and there can change the course of the match. The team will be aware of it and will go in fresh and it will be interesting to see the youngsters in the team and how they go on to handle the pressure because CSK will go berserk against the youngsters if they find the weak link.

Players to watch out for:
For CSK, the spinners will play a major role in this match as well and a lot depends on Deepak Chahar. If he can break the opening partnership, it will be easy for the spinners to dominate. Once again, CSK will go in with spinners against Quinton de Kock and more than the shots, Quinton must come out of the mental block he is going through against the spinners. In the last match, it was Suryakumar Yadav who played excellent innings, made the full use of the chances he was given. CSK must keep it tight this time and Suryakumar Yadav, a good player against spinners, will enjoy the contest for sure. We might also see a lot of short balls targetting the fourth stump for Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard.

For MI, they need Rohit Sharma to perform big and he is the only captain to win the Man of the Match in the final and that came when MI defeated CSK and lifted the trophy years back. Mumbai will be a happy camp if Rohit Sharma performs today.

Coming to MI bowlers, Rohit Sharma always loved analytics and will target each batsman according to their weakness. For example, bringing Jayant Yadav the other match especially to bowl against Suresh Raina worked like a gem that day.

No surprises if we see Rohit Sharma go in with the same team. Considering the conditions, he might be tempted to use McClenaghan as well.

Conditions: Rain might interrupt the game today.

Probable XI:
Chennai Super Kings: Since Dhoni hates changing the teams, He might go in with the same team that defeated Delhi or he might make one change, bring in Murali Vijay again.

Mumbai Indians might go in with the same team as well. Maybe considering the conditions, Rohit Sharma might bring in McClenaghan in.
