The Karthik-led KKR side always has a decent track record in all the seasons of IPL. They are like the most unpredictable team you’d ever see. They start well, they go at a decent pace but all of a sudden they find themselves in trouble and nobody knows how and why. Despite winning the trophy twice, the team struggled to outperform the other IPL giants.
Just like the last year, the team from the West Bengal has a lot of injury woes as they have already lost three players to injury even before the start of the season and all the three being fast bowlers, has made it even more tragic.
Kamalesh Nagarkotti misses IPL for the second consecutive season and his U-19 partner Shivam Mavi also misses out due to an injury. They will also be missing the services of Anrich Nortje, as he injured himself midst of the ongoing series between South Africa and Sri Lanka.
- The batting is their biggest strength. With people knowing their roles exactly, they will continue the form with the bat in this season too.
- They do have a good aggressive opening pair to give a good start, followed by a formidable middle order and two quality finishers in Karthik and Russell to end things well.
- The experienced Spin trio of Kuldeep, Narine and Chawla can wreck any batting order on their day.
Knight riders is another team which lacks back up for players. An injury to one of their players, things might go wrong.
They don’t exactly have a frontline pacer who can both control and pick wickets for the team.
