The South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has been withdrawn by the South African selectors for precautionary reasons ahead of the World Cup.
The 23-year-old missed the Delhi Capitals’ match against the Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday. Cricket South Africa confirmed on Thursday to ESPNcricinfo that the scans were done on Rabada’s back.
Rabada is currently the 2019 IPL’s leading wicket-taker, with 25 wickets in 12 matches and this definitely will affect the chances for the Delhi Capitals going into the playoffs.
Now, this adds more worries to South African selectors as four of their pacers- Lungi Ngidi (side strain), Anrich Nortje (shoulder), Dale Steyn (shoulder) and Kagiso Rabada (back niggle) are nursing injuries ahead of World Cup.
