Neena Gupta starrer ‘The Last Color’ in Oscar race

The celebrity chef Vikas Khanna’s debut movie as a director, ‘The Last Color’ makes it to the list of feature films that are eligible for the Oscars 2020 for the Best Picture category.

For a film to be eligible, it must have opened in a commercial theatre in Los Angeles by December 31, and began a minimum run of seven consecutive days.

The Last Color talks about the life of widows in Vrindavan and Varanasi. It is based on the Vikas Khanna’s book under the same name which got released in 2018.

While the film was screened in multiple international festivals, it is yet to release in India.

The 92nd Academy Awards will be held on February 9 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
