Official: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Sequel Series ordered at Hulu

How I Met Your Mother ended in 2014 and is still a go-to series for many. Apart from those who are re-watching it, there are a lot of people who have just discovered the series. Ever since the series got available online, the popularity has increased manifolds.

Now, the streaming app Hulu has announced that there will be a sequel soon.

The series ‘How I met Your Father’ will star Hilary Duff as Sophie and will follow her story similar to the prequel. Here, Sophie will be talking to her son about her lives and how they had kept the love alive.

The series has Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who serve as writers and executive producers and Sophie is also a part of production team. Along with them, the original creators of the show, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are also onboard as executive producers.

“As a huge fan of ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ I’m honored and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby”, said Duff.

It is still unclear whether there will be any connection to the prequel.

This is not the first time that a sequel of How I Met Your Mother was attempted.

CBS ordered a pilot for “How I Met Your Dad” 2013, which starred Greta Gerwig with Meg Ryan attached as the narrator. However, it didn’t work out well.

How I Met Your Mother starred Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, and Alyson Hannigan. Bob Saget provided the voice of the narrator, an older version of Ted Mosby.
