Oh My, Ayushmann!

The new generation we are living in knows who and what is the king. The days are “almost gone” where people used to pay to watch their stars. Now, the content is the king. If there is a hero who knows it very well, it has to be Ayushmann Khurrana. From #VickyDonor to #Dreamgirl in literally every single movie he has played an unconventional hero. Someone who doesn’t go kill the antagonist in a single punch. I mean, I do enjoy the latter, but Ayushmann’s movies are special.

The king of off-beat roles started with Vicky Donor. It was a risk. The movie could have gone either way. Still, Ayushmann came out with flying colours. It was not the so-called typical cinema. What followed was a series of movies which breaks all the stereotypes and stays true to the content. Ayushmann’s instincts work out every single time and you wonder how. Of course, he did taste failures after Vicky Donor but that doesn’t deny the fact that he had guts to do something different. Maybe, the failure is the reason why he has gained himself fans who wait for his movies just to see what he has in stores this time.

2018 was a great year for him with #BadhaiHo and #Andhadhun. Right after Andhadhun, possibly, one of the finest movies, Ayushmann did make people curious about his next movie. The expectations were reaching the sky-high. #Article15 did have fans separated but Dream Girl was definitely a dream follow. Undoubtedly, ‘#Bala‘ will be a great one too.

Despite tasting commercial success through his movies, Ayushmann’s movies are lovable for a fact: how he takes a back step and allows other actors to perform equally well. ‘Badhai Ho’ is the best example of that.

***
Because Ayushmann entered the movies after meeting us all through the small screens, he is more of a household name, someone who is like a part of the family. Of course, his roles are similar as well. You don’t see him flexing his muscles more often. He keeps things simple, an extension of his theatre scripts and has re-written the way how someone can also be a hero through off-beat roles. Maybe because the scripts are fresh.

***
Though we can tag him as someone who is born in the right era, it is difficult to forget the struggles he has gone through to reach where he is now. Instead of struggles, he had step-by-step success and that is why he has always stayed down to earth.

***
There is so much positivity with Ayushmann and Tahira. Tahira’s fight with cancer and how she is spreading awareness on the same is not only great but also is inspiring.
***
No, you cannot just tag him as the actor alone. He is an excellent singer and ‘Mitti Di Khushboo’ is still one of my favourite songs.

***
With years, I’m only waiting to see what are all the stories Ayushmann has to surprise us all and how he keeps at the edge of the screens.

Belated Happy Birthday, Ayushmann.
