A recent terror attack in Pulwama, Kashmir witnessed the death of more than forty CRPF officers. As a great gesture, the IPL teams are coming forward to help the CRPF families.
Delhi Capitals were the first to announce the news followed by Chennai Super Kings.
Both DC and CSK will donate their first match profits while the Kings XI Punjab will donate Rs 25 Lakhs to each family.
Earlier, Sehwag’s International School has offered to take care of the educational fees for the children of the affected families.
BCCI also announced that this year there will not be an inaugural ceremony and the money will go to the CRPF funds.
IPL is scheduled to begin early by March 23 because of the Lok Sabha Elections. The defending Champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match at Chennai.
