Songs I love: Voh Dekhney Mein

Songs with good lyrics are rare these days. Especially those that coincide with the music that lifts your mood.

Voh Deknay Mein is one of them. While Ali Zafar voice adds magic to his music, Aditi Rao Hydari’s dance moves are not only simple but are believable.

Believable because you cannot expect someone who is surprised by the song to go dance like she has been practising it for years. The moves must be simple, and there must be some doubts as well.

The girl and the guy meet, they instantly click. They have this bond which is beautiful and is new like a droplet of water on a leaf. The girl knows the water will not last long and doesn’t like to do a long-distance relationship. Still, she likes him and the time.

The guy expresses his feelings for the girl which again is new and he finds comfort, feels like home with her. Yet, he is confused. Blame the timing.

Yet he loves spending time with her, pulling her legs. It’s fun and he knows it will not last long.

Both of them are living the moment, goofing around in London without knowing what the future holds. There is little curiosity as well.

However, In the female version of the same song which has Aditi Rao Hydari’s voice, the girl who is still in love with the guy is glad to see him but this time, she knows it is not going to happen because she is almost ready to get married to another guy. In her voice, you could see the pain while reliving the moments. It’s hard for both of them but they wish to live the moment once again, the one night for the memories. To write and rewrite them. Though it kills, both would never miss an opportunity to spend time with each other.

The moment of uncertainty takes over. The eyes speak when the words fail to. A tender goodbye kisses that they would wish that it never ends. Unfortunately, the timing. Still, the heart doesn’t know what’s real. At times, the mind takes a back step to let the heart enjoy its moments.

While people go behind all romantic songs for their loved ones to surprise them, certainly ‘Voh Dekhney Mein’ is for those who love to live in the moment, keep it simple and most importantly, love to put a smile on the face.
