England have come a long way since making it to the final in 2018. The team underwent transformation as three of their main players called it a day with the coach Mark Robinson stepping down as well.
However, the legends were now replaced by three young guns, Freya Devies, Sarah Glenn, Mady Villiers.
The team had a great outing in 2019 as they went on to defeat India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan while they went down to Australia.
Having said that, the current form of the team is something to talk about, where they failed to make the final of the triseries against India and Australia. They were humiliated by Sri Lanka in the Warm ups where England got defeated by 10 wickets.
As the captain Knight said, everyday is different and England would love to look that way.
Coming to the squad, the idea to promote Jones to open and pushing Beaumont down the order did work well in many matches and it will be interesting to see how things turn here. A lot will be dependent on Wyatt who is the game changer of the team. The form of Knight is a plus as well.
Squad: Amy Ellen Jones(w), Danielle Wyatt, Fran Wilson, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Winfield, Heather Knight(c), Katherine Brunt, Anya Shrubsole, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, Natalie Sciver, Georgia Elwiss, Kate Cross, Freya Davies, Mady Villiers
