Tokyo 2020: Ravi Kumar Dahiya wins Silver medal

Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya will return home with silver after losing the final in the men’s 57kg freestyle category to Russian Olympic Committee’s (ROC) Zavur Uguev on Thursday.

He is the fifth wrestler to return with a medal for India after KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, and Sakshi Malik to finish on the Olympic podium.

This is India’s second silver in Tokyo 2020 and fifth medal overall.

Uguev began well and went to a 2-0 lead immediately. Ravi Kumar came back stronger to make it 2-2 but Uguev made it to 4-2. The score remained the same in the break.

Then Uguev went to 5-2 after pushing the Indian wrestler around. Within a whisker, he moved to 7-2. Later, Ravi Kumar made it 4-7 but it wasn’t enough in the end.
