Wrestlemania 36: Undertaker Beats AJ Styles in Boneyard Match

The Undertaker once again prevailed as the winner at the Wrestlemania to take his record to 24-2 at the event with Brock Lesner and Roman Reigns being the only two superstars to defeat the legend.

Due to coronavirus pandemic, the event wasn’t happening before the bunch audience but certainly was a treat for those who are watching from home.

In the Wrestlemania’s first Boneyard Match, The Undertaker’s victory did not come as easy as one would have expected. AJ Styles was doing his best and one had to blame The Undertaker’s age as well. However, the match did offer toe-to-toe edge of the seat moments with The Undertaker dragging The Phenomenal One to an empty grave before burying him six feet under.

The issues between the two men began February 27 at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. AJ Styles was about to win the Tuwaiq Trophy gauntlet match when Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Rey Mysterio. Unfortunately for him, The Undertaker replaced Mysterio and chokeslammed The Phenomenal One for the win.

In the following week, Styles mocked Taker by doing his cross-armed cover while beating Aleister Black.

Then in the rematch at Elimination Chamber in a No Disqualification match, Black defeated Styles, thanks to The Undertaker’s sudden appearance and the Chokeslam.

Then we get to see a video clip of frustrated AJ Styles talking about the match. He even calls Taker a “broken-down old man” and also blames The Phenom’s wife, former WWE Superstar Michelle McCool, for forcing him to continue wrestling.

Styles then challenged Taker to a WrestleMania match, and a contract signing was set for the following week on Raw. That edition of the red brand was moved to the Performance Center because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but it didn’t stop them from further building to their match.

While The Taker came to the ring to sign the contract, Styles remained backstage and asked Gallows and Anderson to deliver the same.

Taker then destroyed them both. Styles then added that the match would be a boneyard one and Taker immediately accepted.

With no doubts, the young Taker would have destroyed Styles with ease, it took time for the now Taker who is nearing 60.

Even though The Undertaker won the match, all lies on what happens next because we all know about AJ Styles.
