Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has missed his flight to Sri Lanka and will be missing the initial matches of the upcoming Lanka Premier League.
The all-rounder took to social media to share the news.
“Missed my flight to Colombo today morning. Nothing to worry, I’ll be reaching soon to take part in the LPL for Galle Gladiators. Look forward to joining my teammates,” Afridi wrote on his Twitter handle.
Afridi was named as the captain of Galle Gladiators. The team will play their first match on November 27 against Jaffna Stallions.
In his absence, Bhanuka Rajapaksa is likely to lead the side.
