ENG vs IND: Manchester Test called Off

The fifth and final Test of India tour of England has been called off due to COVID19 fears.

According to the official statement from ECB, the Test has been called off as India are unable to field a team.

The statement reads-

“Due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India are regrettably unable to field a team. 

We send our sincere apologies to fans and partners for this news, which we know will cause immense disappointment and inconvenience to many. 

Further information will be shared in due course.”

India’s physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar had tested positive on Wednesday. Though the entire squad had tested negative, one of the players had expressed his concerns.

The results of second round of test which was performed on Thursday is still awaited.
