England take an unassailable lead against West Indies as the hosts went on to defeat the West Indies by 20 runs in the 3rd T20I.
Once again batting first, England managed to score 154 runs from their 20 overs. This time, the runs came from the bat of Nat Sciver, who smashed 82 from 61 deliveries and got out to Dottin during the final overs.
Earlier, Connell did the damage with the ball, dismissing both the England openers. However, Sciver and Knight added a tiny partnership where Sciver had the majority of the strike. In the end, Wilson’s 16 took the team to a good total.
West Indies used eight bowlers with Dottin and Connell being more successful. They had two wickets each.
In return, Kirby and Campbelle went early but Dottin rejoined with her former opening partner Matthews and added a few quick runs. However, Matthews couldn’t convert start and fell for 21. With the run-rate kept ticking, Dottin tried to deal with boundaries, ended up scoring 63 from 56 deliveries but that wasn’t enough.
In the end, Taylor and Henry tried their best to take the team home but they fell 20 runs short of the target. Brunt and Glenn had two wickets with Sciver picking one.
