Indian opener Rohit Sharma will not travel to Australia until he clears the fitness test according to reports.
“Rohit won’t travel to Australia unless he clears a fitness Test conducted by Team India physio Nitin Patel. Unless Patel and the National Cricket Academy declare him fit, Rohit is not going to Australia,” said a source in the BCCI.
The source also added that they are keen to see if Rohit gets fit in time for Test as India will be missing Virat Kohli for the most part of Test series.
According to the reports in TOI, Virat Kohli has written an official letter to the board that he may miss as much as three Tests because of the birth of his kid.
India announced the squad on October 26th. In the squad, the selectors did not include the name of Rohit Sharma.
India are scheduled to begin their tour Down Under with the first ODI on November 27 in Sydney. The three-match ODI series will be followed by three T20Is and four Tests.
