Women’s T20 Challenge: Supernovas win by 2 runs, reaches final

It was one of the thrillers of the game in Women’s T20 Challenge as Supernovas managed to pull off a win over Trailblazers to qualify for the final.

Batting first, Trailblazers knew the importance of this game and went literally berserk. Before when Trailblazers could realize what was happening, Athapaththu and Punia took the team to 89. Punia was the first wicket to fall, she went for 30.

Kaur joined Athapaththu and the duo added a tiny partnership before Athapaththu got out to Deol. She made 67 from 48.

While Kaur managed to get 31, Trailblazers found their way back and managed to restrict the team to 146. A few good overs and three run-outs in the final over made it possible.

In return, Dottin played well for 27 while Mandhana took her time for 33. Trailblazers looked a bit out when they lost Richa Ghosh and Hemalatha. However, Deepti Sharma and Harleen Deol fought back to help the team get closer to the target. The team needed 9 runs from the final over but Radha Yadav did well to help her team win by 2 runs.

Deepti stood unbeaten at 43 while Harleen had 27 from just 15.

With this win, Supernovas will qualify for the final and will take on Trailblazers once again.
